Don Kalbacher 

Chief Operations Officer

Don Kalbacher began his mortgage banking career in 1991 and brings more than three decades of industry experience across multiple disciplines, including Accounting, Wholesale Lending, Correspondent Lending, Capital Markets, and Mortgage Operations. He has been a valued member of the Legacy team since 2009 and continues to play an integral leadership role within the organization as President.

A graduate of Fort Lewis College, Don earned degrees in Accounting and Exercise Science along with a teaching certificate. Although his original plan was to pursue coaching and teaching, a move to Austin, Texas ultimately led him into the mortgage industry—where he built a long-standing and successful career. He is also a graduate of the Mortgage Bankers Association’s School of Mortgage Banking and its Future Leaders Program, further strengthening his leadership and technical expertise within the field. Throughout his career, Don has been actively involved at the national, state, and local levels of the Mortgage Bankers Association, contributing both professionally and through industry engagement.

Outside of work, Don enjoys spending time outside with his family, supporting his kids in sports, and staying physically active.
