Having trouble structuring your day to accomplish all the things on your to-do list? We’ve all been there. Maybe you’re lacking motivation, or maybe you haven’t been able to get organized lately. Whatever the reason, start fresh today!
Our loan officers are successful because they have minimum standards for their day, not because they’re superhuman. Read on to see what some of the Legacy Mutual Mortgage loan officers have to say about creating structure in their day-to-day.
Two main things: follow my calendar and make a list to make sure I accomplish all my tasks.
My method for structuring my day starts with prioritizing my time strategically. I focus on my production time, or green time, to ensure I’m maximizing productivity and staying on track with my goals. At the same time, I make it a priority to carve out time for my family and for myself, as maintaining balance is essential to my success and well-being. I rely heavily on my calendar to keep me organized, and I make it a point to follow it to the T — no excuses. This discipline allows me to stay focused, meet deadlines, and still have the space to recharge and enjoy life outside of work. It’s all about creating a structure that supports both personal and professional growth!
As a loan officer, a dad, and a husband, if I don’t fill out my calendar, I’ll forget half the things I need to do – and trust me, it’s not pretty! There are certain tasks that need to happen weekly, so I make sure to block out time for them in my calendar. Then, as opportunities to help families or partners come up, I work those into my system, keeping track so I can follow up and stay on top of things. The daily task lists are key to making sure everything gets done without me losing my mind!
Win the morning, win the day. A successful day starts with a well-executed morning routine. For me this consists of:
When it comes down to it, having a rhythm with things you get done every day is the key to success. Make sure you also make time for the things that make life worth living. This could be spending time with family, exploring the great outdoors, cooking your favorite dish, etc. Those things are important, too! They can even help boost your motivation to accomplish your work-related goals. Remember, structuring your day depends on your needs and goals, so do what works best for you!
