Added as a Legacy branch in 2016, our Schertz branch helps service homebuyers and Realtors in the IH-35 corridor from north of New Braunfels through much of south and central San Antonio.
The Schertz community is recognized nationally as one of the top 40 “best places to live in the country” by CNN/Money. The city boast festivals, including Jubilee, Schertzfest, and Festival of Angels. Schertz is also a historic community first settled in around 1843. Originally, the area was named Cibolo Pit after the Cibolo Creek. The early settlers primarily harvested wheat, corn, and oats. Cotton was planted in later years. The Galveston, Harrisburg, and San Antonio Railroad first arrived in the town in 1876. The first post office of the area was established in 1882. At that time, the area was known as Cut Off. Schertz adopted its present name in 1899. The city of Schertz was incorporated in 1958.
